Anniversary Scrapbook Layout

How do you capture your anniversaries in your scrapbook layouts?  I always find it challenging, I don't want to use a Valentines collection necessarily but I would like something that fits our marriage.  When I got my hands on the "Faith" Collection from Simple Stories, I knew it would be perfect for our anniversary layout.  Our marriage is built on our Christian faith, so what better way to share that story!  I used it with the current sketch from Stuck?! Sketches!  Here's what the sketch looks like:

My favorite part of this sketch is the rows of strips...let's you run a little wild with color if you want to!  Here's what I created with the sketch:

I built the whole layout around the navy blue scheme as it is a big part of the collection and I'm wearing navy blue in the picture.  That was a different approach for me, but I really like the end results.  I do have a video that goes along with this layout and talks you thru the details and my design choices with fussy cutting, layering, etc.

This layout definitely inspired me to pull out more of those dark colors so I can combine them with brights.  And of course to continue to capture my husband and I in layouts.  Be sure to head on over to Stuck?! Sketches and play along with us.

Best Friends Layout for Stuck?! Sketches!

I'm running behind on this as we premiered this beautiful sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches on the 15th!  I had a video for it that got messed up....so I think I just put this on the backburner!  Alas, I'm finally sharing the sketch and what I created with it!  Here's the August 15th Sketch!

I love the diagonal design on this!  So much so that I think I may even play with it a second time!

Here's my layout that I made with it.  Bright and colorful packed with the beautiful "On a Whim" collection by Amy Tan!  I fussy cut all of those big flowers out of a patterned paper.  My background papers come from Doodlebug Design and are a softer shade of the yellow and pink in order to avoid having the whole thing come out way too bright!

Summer Layout - Stuck?! Sketches August 1st

It's August 1st! How'd that happen?  Today I have a new layout for you that features the sketch from Stuck?! Sketches!  Here's the sketch!

And here's what I created using it!

Crazy enough I actually stayed pretty true to the sketch this go around!  I combined some beautiful papers from the Marbelous paper pad from Paper House Productions with various chipboard pieces and some beautiful hearts from the Paper House Project Pad to make this layout.  The background looks like I did mixed media but the paper actually comes that way! String Art - Family Scrapbook Layout (Stuck?! Sketches)

 It's a fresh new week and time for a new sketch from Stuck?! Sketches! I love the simplicity of the one this month and the vertical design!  Vertical designs always catch my eyes, so I was excited to dig in. Here is is:

And here's what I came up with when I played with the sketch.  I decided to make a family scrapbook layout with a fun family selfie from a recent trip to the zoo. I used the new Faith Collection from Simple Stories to create it.

I also have a process video to go along with this one, in fact, I have two. The first takes you thru how I made the string art butterflies.

Cousins Scrapbook Layout - Stuck?! Sketches July 1

Hi there!  Today I have a bright and cheery cousins layout using some old kit supplies!  It's based on the newest sketch from Stuck?! Sketches!

And here's what I did with the sketch!  No process video for this one, I was in a time crunch and needed to get it done so I could sneak away on an Anniversary Trip with my hubby!

I love how well the colors came together to coordinate on this one, despite being from several different companies!  I think I've got Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants, and Doodlebug all in there!  Be sure to swing by Stuck?! Sketches and play along!

Lego Scrapbook Layout for Stuck?! Sketches

I've been on the lookout for some good boy collections to add to my stash as I have been using up more and more of it. When I saw this collection from Photo Play Paper I knew it was a good start in replenshing my boy collections and this is the first layout I made with it!  It is based on this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

And here's what I did with the sketch!

To create my background, I simply fussy cut along the lines of the legos and cut out a giant piece to use in the background.  No measuring, nothing complicated, just knowing about how big I wanted it to be!  The title, stickers, and sidebar patterned paper are all from the collection too!

Stuck?! Sketches June 1st Reveal - Grandparents Layout

There's a brand new sketch at Stuck?! Sketches! And I've got a layout to share with you all about Grandma!  But first here's the sketch for this month!
