Fall-ing in love with Bella Blvd Cut Files - Video Tutorial Included

Over the last year, Bella Blvd has started offering cut files and they sure do add some flexibility and options to your projects. Today I am using the most detailed of all those cut files - the Tile Background Cut File from the Home Sweet Home Collection!
ChristineMeyer.FallLayout.October11
Cut files like this take a long time to cut. You have to set them at a slow speed and then just be patient. In this case, it took about 35 minutes to cut! Planning for that, I set it to cut and then did other things!

Once it was all cut, I pulled out my Bella Besties and my circle punch and started backing it! I knew I wanted lots of fall colors! A fine tip glue pen made this job a little bit easier!!!

Because the layout already has lots of detail and color I knew I wasn't going to have to do a lot for embellishing! I created my title using a combination of an Acrylic World and Florence Alphabets.  Then I added some Heart Hugs and punched out vellum leaves to my design. I opted for vellum here because it would still let the colors and cut file show thru while adding a little bit of texture!

Here's a video tutorial with all the details on how I created this layout:

Bella Blvd Rainbow Scrapbook Layout

I love combining all the colors!!! Bella Blvd's Legacy line is packed with products in all the colors!  Here's what I created recently using a combination of Plaids & Dotty, Heart Hugs, and Word Salad Stickers!
Rainbow Scrapbook Layout for Bella Blvd by Christine Meyer
For lots of people they want a legacy to leave behind.  In our house part of our legacy, is caring for each other in a loving marriage through the good and bad!  So what better products to use to showcase that legacy than our Legacy products?  Within the Legacy products you can find - lots of color, lots of words, and lots of versatile products!

ChristineMeyer.TheSweetLife.Feb14-2
To kick things off I picked an non-traditional piece of patterned paper for my layout - I used the front page from the Plaids & Dotty Collection. You know, the one that comes in the paper pack and has the exclusive patterned paper on the back.  I cut off all the branding details and just used the plaids and dots!  I loved that it had all the colors included in it and was all lined up.  It made a really nice backdrop for my colorful picture!

ChristineMeyer.TheSweetLife.Feb14-3
My title was a little trickier to come up with - so many great choices available!  In the end I opted for combining the acrylic "Sweet" with letter stickers from Illustrated Faith.

ChristineMeyer.TheSweetLife.Feb14-4
Seeing as I couldn't resist pulling in all the colors of the rainbow for my patterned paper, I had to follow that up with Heart Hugs in all the colors of the rainbow (and more)!  I used the Heart Hugs from a variety of packages, incorporating different sizes, to create a border between my plaids and dots!

ChristineMeyer.TheSweetLife.Feb14-5
Finally I couldn't resist the chance to really dig into the Word Salad Stickers!  The phrases and words within it provide so many options for ready made journaling and can work for just about any topic you can come up with!  I pulled different phrases from as many colors as I could to tell our story!
I created a process video for you so that you can take a closer-up look at how I pulled together this clean & simple layout!

Frozen Yogurt Scrapbook Layout

I was recently up over at the Bella Blvd blog with this Frozen Yogurt Themed layout!

Frozen Yogurt Scrapbook Layout using Bella Blvd
Two years ago I started a journey to get healthier.  I was on a mission to lose weight and shift my eating habits back into a healthier direction.  But as a die hard ice cream fan, I needed a substitute.  Enter, frozen yogurt!  I discovered several varieties that I loved and used that as a healthier substitute as I worked my weight down 50 pounds.  Stories like these are important to capture.  It's important for our families (and us) to know who we were in different moments in time!  So now that I've shared a little background on what this layout means to me, let's take a look at how I created it!
Christine.FroYoDay.Feb6CU2
The layout is made up of papers from the Wish Big collection, mostly the girl side but a little from the boy side too!  I used a cut file to create a giant, fun focal point and then backed it with a variety of bright Bella Blvd colors!  I also worked in lots of Heart Hugs - they are just the best embellishment!
Christine.SneakPeekFroYoDay.Feb6
I decided to make my own DIY embellishments - combining a cut file with a triangle punch to create lots of Frozen Yogurt cones!  All those cute patterned papers made this so much fun!
Let's take a look up close at the whole process in this process video:

Plaids & Dotty Bella Blvd Scrapbook Layout

Plaids and Dotty is the perfect collection either as a stand-alone collection or as a complement to other collections.  With simple designs and all the fabulous Bella Blvd colors, it's a tremendous addition to your crafting supplies.  I have already used it in conjunction with other collections but today I wanted to showcase it on it's own, focusing specifically on the plaid side of things!  I was immediately drawn to going down a rainbow path, so I decided to run with that! Let's take a look at what I created!
Plaids & Dotty Rainbow Layout for Bella Blvd by Christine Meyer
One thing that may jump out to you immediately, and makes this collection different, is the different scale on the Plaids.  They aren't all the same, so although they coordinate, you aren't getting all the exact same pattern with just different colors.  This led me to design a little differently as I created this.  I initially thought I'd put everything on straight and have a "quilted" look.  BUT as I was just haphazardly placing the triangles on, I noticed that the different scales lended itself nicely to a little bit of a messier (for lack of a better word) look.  So I took a chance and am so happy I did!
ChristineMeyer.Plaids2.Jan24
I also used a cut file to create a big title focal point!
ChristineMeyer.Plaids3.Jan24
Backing the cut file with black really made it pop and allowed me to bring in more black throughout the layout - even going with a black cardstock base.
ChristineMeyer.Plaids4.Jan24
You can also see I brought in lots of enamel dots that coordinated from the Heart Hugs sets and just placed a few in each color area.
ChristineMeyer.Plaids5.Jan24
Finally I brought in lots of black hearts from various Heart Hugs sets.  As I was debating how to embellish and pulled these out, I just knew a row of the black ones would be a great contrast and help to bring in one final touch of black.

Creating a Unique Scrapbook Background with Adhesive

Creating a fun and unique background on a scrapbook layout is so satisfying!  Adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L make it all that much more easy to do - especially if you are willing to think out of the box a little bit! **I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and The ScrapRoom for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**  Let's take a look at what I came up with using the E-Z Runner Grand with the Repositionable Dots Refill along with my Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom.
The entire heart background was created by combining my E-Z Runner Grand with Distress Oxides Ink!  Here's a full video on the process:

Head on over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog to catch all the details on this layout and technique!  If you want to check out any of the supplies from this layout you can click on the affiliate thumbnails below!
