4 DIY Gift Card Holders

Gift cards are always such a fun gift to receive and give, but it can be a challenge to figure out how to present them.  Today I am offering up 4 ways to wrap gift cards that feature the Coffee Plans Stamp.  I really like to give gift cards to places with coffee so this stamp set was perfect for this!  Let's have a look at the 4 DIY Gift Card Holders and then I will share a video with you that walks you thru how to make each one!

This first one requires very little patterned paper and can tuck nicely into a card or on top of another gift.

Built around a tag, this one doesn't require a lot of extra supplies either and can easily be added on to something else as well (or hung on the tree!)

This is a bigger one and more of a stand-alone card, making it ideal to stick in the mail!  And you can't miss the inside!

Inside the card pops up to showcase the gift card!  And how fun is that coffee mug stamped with #coffeebreak.  Coffee Plans is such a fun set!

Another stand alone card, this one is constructed easily (despite how it looks) from four circles and a square!  It folds up nicely with a box fold and is a sweet surprise for the recipient.

5 Tips for Using Your Sticker Stash on a Collage Scrapbook Layout

Do you have a bunch of old stickers laying around? It's always fun to use up a whole bunch of stash and today I have a layout that is perfect for doing that.  This style of layout is called a collage style because you mix and match a bunch of elements together to form a collage that looks like a shape. Melinda Spinks is known for doing this with supplies and I love to employ the technique!  Here's what I came up with for the school themed scrapbook layout:

Now if this looks complicated, I think you'll be surprised how simple it actually is!  My process video on it will walk you thru how to do the technique and some of my tips and tricks for implementing it.

I was thrilled to basically eliminate my pile of stickers from this collection by doing this layout.  I had used the collection for four layouts and four cards, so it was time to retire it's remains!  

Here's my biggest tips for you when creating a layout like this:

1) Start with your biggest stickers first.

2) Add in your medium sized stickers

3) Fill in the empty spots with the smaller stuff 

4) Use around 3-5 different types of product - I used cardstock stickers, enamel shapes, and wood veneer, 3D Stickers, and Puffy Stickers.  This allows for visual interest and dimension.

5) Place your pictures before you start so you don't waste supplies or have to rip them up later.

Back to School Crafty Video Series! Day Three! Giveaway! School Themed Cards

It's Day 3 of this fun Back to School Video Series and today I have a slew of cards to share with you that feature the Back to School Collection from Doodlebug Design.  Here's the whole pile!

I attacked these with my craft knife and tried to make each one have a unique twist.  Here's the video highlighting each one.

Doodlebug simply has the best cut apart pages for cute cards!  Take a look at each one individually.

I cut the center circle to make it open up and used the owl to secure it.

The marquee shape got cut open on this and then the inside reveals a message.

Another one where i cut the center circle to reveal a message.

For this one I used my craft knife to cut the grass and create a textured look.

Finally on this one I cut the edges of the heart and popped them up.
