Using Mists for Stamping & Giveaway

It's time for another monthly Stash Bash and this month we are focusing in on using mists on a project. I decided to try my hand at using mists for stamping.  And not just any stamping, but stamping using real live leaves!  I used my The ScrapRoom kit from this month - one of the page kits was a beautiful fall collection from Echo Park Paper.  I definitely wanted to use it before Thanksgiving, so the timing was perfect!  Here's the layout I created!
Using Mists for Stamping Fall Scrapbook Layout by Christine Meyer

As always, I have a process video to go along with my project, join me for this walk-thru!  And bonus - there's a giveaway with this one!

What I love about this technique is that it is one that anyone can do with their mists!  No fancy tools necessary!  You can check out any of the supplies for this project by clicking on the affiliate thumbnails below - and as always thanks for your support!

Holiday Gift Guide for the Crafter in Your LIfe - Part 2 Consumables

Got a crafter in your life?  Want to get them something they will love for this holiday season?  In my last post I walked you thru tools that they will love.  Today we're going to focus on consumables.  We'll be looking at products that they can use up and play with - maybe to replenish old items or maybe to try some new goodies!  Just click on any of the pictures to check them out at Scrapbook.com.  Let's dive into my Holiday Gift Guide for the Crafter in Your Life!

The American Crafts family just released these new sticker books for all of their signature artists - they have 30, yes 30, pages of coordinating stickers!

Nuvo Crystal Drops are one of my newest discoveries and additions to my crafty space.  I love them and can't wait to get more colors!

You can't go wrong with Tim Holtz products and these new Distress Oxides do not disappoint!  They have properties similar to both dye and pigment inks making them different from anything else on the market.  They are great for both stamping and a variety of mixed media techniques.

If your crafter loves to do DIY home decor and gifts, check out the full line of Mix the Media Products from Jillibean Soup.  These fall into the farmhouse style that is so popular but allow crafters to personalize the base products.

Beautiful and versatile, the Project Pads from Paper House Productions are a great add on to any gift!  They can be used on just about any type of project from scrapbooking to home decor.

I have new albums on my list this year because I always fill them up as soon as I have them!  I personally prefer the 3 Ring Binder style - but take a look at what your crafter has and grab them a new album or two to fill up with 2018's new scrapbook layouts.

Planners are immensely popular these days and the possibilities are endless for gift giving, from the planners to embellishments, stickers, stamps, and more!

Washi Tape makes a great stocking stuffer - or get them a set as a gift!  You can never have to much washi tape!

So there you have it - several ideas of fun craft items to get those special crafters in your life!  Happy shopping!

Holiday Gift Guide for the Crafter in Your Life - Part 1 - Tools

Do you have someone on your list who loves to craft?  Are you looking for some fun but practical gifts to send their way?  Today I have a list of some great ideas for you that feature some hot new items in the craft industry as well as some that are older but loved!  So let's dive into a Holiday Gift Guide for the Crafter in Your Life!  In today's post I am going to focus on Ten Tools for crafters! Each product is linked with affiliate links to Scrapbook.com - making it easy for you to hop over there and grab them!

Upgrade their trimmer to a fancier version like this one from Xacto!  It uses a laser to guide their cuts!

I bought this tool early in 2017 and have loved it - the We R Memory Keepers Laser Square.  It's the kind of tool that isn't a necessity but is really nice to have, which makes it a great gift!

We R Memory Keepers is a company known for great tools and the Evolution die cutting machine is no exception!  Grab this and then get some metal dies to accompany it and your crafter will definitely be smiling!

Nesting Dies are a great gift for the practical crafter out there.  They are built to last and be used to match both trendy and classical styles alike.

Every stamper and mixed media artist needs a set of daubers - how about this one that comes with a case!?!

If they are looking to get organized in the new year, this will help!  These stackable paper trays can help get the paper chaos under control!

Planners alert!  If your crafter is into the planner craze then grab this Planner Punch Board that will punch a variety of holes for them.

The Tim Holtz Stamp Platform is another new product and will help that stamper in your life with precise stamping time and again.

The Cinch is a versatile tool great for making mini albums, punching holes, and creating anything that needs binding.

There are many electronic cutting systems out there - but this one is my favorite - the Silhouette Cameo!

I'll be back tomorrow with Part 2 featuring consumable products that your crafter will love!

DIY Thanksgiving Table Decor

Thanksgiving is coming up quickly and requires all kinds of ingredients for the perfect day. I knew I needed to start working on one ingredient:  cute decor for my table.  With just a few simple ingredients I was able to pull together an adorable turkey and some napkin rings: the most important ingredient being the Feathers Project Pad from Paper House Productions.
DIY Thanksgiving Table Decor
Combining the feathers with a couple of circles, some Autumn Woods washi tape, empty toilet paper rolls, and enamel dots; I was able to make both the turkey and some napkin rings.  Here’s the whole process in a quick video!
I can’t even tell you how much fun it was to put this turkey together!  I love it when the project comes together and is just super fun!

Look at all those pretty patterns in the feathers! I love that the colors coordinate so nicely so that the patterns aren’t overwhelming.  In addition to the turkey I created some napkin rings using the same ingredients!

So there you have it, simple ingredients that come together to make some beautiful decor!  To check out the supplies for this project just click on the affiliate thumbnails below - Thanks for Your Support!

4 DIY Gift Card Holders

Gift cards are always such a fun gift to receive and give, but it can be a challenge to figure out how to present them.  Today I am offering up 4 ways to wrap gift cards that feature the Coffee Plans Stamp.  I really like to give gift cards to places with coffee so this stamp set was perfect for this!  Let's have a look at the 4 DIY Gift Card Holders and then I will share a video with you that walks you thru how to make each one!

This first one requires very little patterned paper and can tuck nicely into a card or on top of another gift.

Built around a tag, this one doesn't require a lot of extra supplies either and can easily be added on to something else as well (or hung on the tree!)

This is a bigger one and more of a stand-alone card, making it ideal to stick in the mail!  And you can't miss the inside!

Inside the card pops up to showcase the gift card!  And how fun is that coffee mug stamped with #coffeebreak.  Coffee Plans is such a fun set!

Another stand alone card, this one is constructed easily (despite how it looks) from four circles and a square!  It folds up nicely with a box fold and is a sweet surprise for the recipient.

You can check out the full tutorial on constructing these holders in this video:
