DIY Recipe Box

Happy first day of December! I am playing with Doodlebug today and creating Christmas gift idea of a personalized recipe box! My daughter has gotten really into cooking and baking so I decided to make it for her to start collecting her favorite recipes.  Using washi tape and a variety of products from Doodlebug makes it easy to personalize it!

I started with a plain wood box that I picked up from a craft store.  I painted it white so I would have a solid background to work on.  Then I used Washi Tape to cover it. I thought about paper but I knew washi tape would be a little easier and I had some cute ones I wanted to use!  The fun colorful striped one actually comes from the Here Comes Santa Claus Collection!  After putting the Washi Tape on I put on a couple layers of  Mod Podge to seal the whole thing. Then it was time to decorate - I used Odds & Ends from Fun in the Sun and Puppy Love to assemble the cluster of flowers and tag.

Inside the box I added a little message using some Odds & Ends from Here Comes Santa Claus.

Of course it wouldn't be complete without recipe dividers!

I created eight of them for her using a variety of Petite Prints, Cute Clips, and Love Letters Cardstock Stickers.
