Pictures too cute {not} to scrap

I am up today at the Lucky Girl Crafts Blog.  When Erin posted last week that our challenge at Practical Scrappers was to use Gray, Yellow, and Red I decided to make a layout to serve a double purpose!  I cut out all my cute Cooper pictures and just started layering.  I love this color combination...thanks for the inspiration Erin!  I did lots of doodling on this and machine stitching...definitely two techniques that I'm stuck on :)

Lucky Girl Crafts Blog Hop: Honored & Remembered

We're kicking off the September Lucky Girl Crafts Blog Hop - my first ever - and I am going to share a layout with you today that I made about my Father In-Laws Retirement.  He retired in June after serving in the ministry for 33 years.  Having a retired pastor in the family definitely came in handy a couple weeks ago when my own hubby/Pastor  had an appendectomy...we couldn't find a local sub so he took over for Ben.

Jessica has a special treat for y'all this weekend:
As a special incentive to our Lucky Girl friends, everyone who places an order over the blog party will receive a free gift - the larger the purchase, the larger the goody! PLUS - one lucky, random person who places an order will receive $50 worth of goodies when their order ships!

There are still tons of AMAZING deals left in the store from the sale that started last weekend - www.LuckyGirlCrafts.com - so hurry over and get your favorite crafty supplies before they're gone!

September's kit

And now for my layout...
This was the first thing I made out of this months kit...so many great choices of things to use!

I've been machine stitching a lot on my projects lately...I've seen a lot of people do this where they sew write thru a title - I'm not sold but I tried it :)

Here's the whole list for the blog hop in case you need to start over:

Now go ahead and check out Ana's project!

Kicking things off at Lucky Girl Crafts

I shared how excited I was to get to play with the August kit from Lucky Girl Crafts and get my design team post rolling.  Today over at the blog we're sharing a project that showcases our five favorite products from the kit.  Now let's be honest, I had a hard time picking out just five!  I always go for all my favorites first...so I had to hold back a little bit :)  First up here's what the kit looks like:
I'll be sharing projects with you all week that I made using it.
Here's my five fave project:

Here's the five I picked:
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mask Mini Florets (I've never used one before - it was awesome!)
Bo Bunny Die Cut Petal Pushers Blossom
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Making Memories Glitter Bling Frame Pink Flower
SEI Sunny Day Glitter Die Cut Accents

Hop on over to the Lucky Girls blog and check out the other designer creations!

I'm so excited that my first kit is up at Lucky Girl Crafts.  I can't wait to share some projects with y'all from it - but I'm on vacation and until I get home and actually work with all I can share is what is in it!  Check out all the stunning details here.

In honor of being named a Lucky Girl Crafts Team Member

I thought it would be a good time to rerun some of my projects that I made from their kits.  But first a little info:  Lucky Girl Crafts is owned by Jessica, a designer also on Practical Scrappers who's been with me since day one.  One reason she started Lucky Girl Crafts is because she lives far away from a local scrapbook store (sounds familiar huh!).  She was finding that getting her hands on great scrapbooking products and combinations that she liked to work with was a challenge and knew her area friends felt the same way.  So she started putting together these great kits and has taken off with them!  She does a great job of providing a variety of products from different companies and in a range of styles.  Her kits don't confine you to a specific style but open up several different ways you can go with the kit.

All of these projects are over 6 months old...I have never brought back anything before, it's kinda fun to see how I've grown some!

This is actually one of my all time favorite layouts - totally (at the time) out of my normal style...it awakened something in my creativity that needed to be brought out!

Hee hee look at all that snow :)

This kit was awesome because it included both cutesy papers as you see here and some shabby chic style papers that you saw earlier.  It also included a lot of great romantic trims.  And no I didn't cover up this poor girls head with trim, it's just the angle :)

This is an old one that I did over a year ago...thought it'd be fun to show how my style has changed a bit.
